Government must not let casinos in by the back door says Bridget Fox

9.36.03am GMT Wed 23rd Mar 2005

Liberal Democrat campaigner Bridget Fox is demanding that the Government introduce a separate planning category for casinos. Currently they are in the same planning category as cinemas, gyms and swimming pools.

Bridget says "The Labour Government's Gambling Bill could see an explosion of casinos in London – despite local views. Local people's chance to have their say must not be lost in the face of plans backed by powerful and wealthy gambling corporations. We must have a specific planning category so there can be no casinos by the back door."
