Parliamentary campaigner Bridget Fox is calling for more central Government help for Islington Council to build new homes for local people. Work has started on new family homes at Boleyn Road N1 and Armour Close N7, built and funded by Islington Council.

Islington racks up cycle racks

The Liberal Democrats running Islington have doubled the amount of cycle parking in the borough over the last year - and have promised to double them again. Islington now has twice the number of bike racks than neighbouring borough Hackney.

Improvements to another two of Islington's parks have been unveiled. Local councillors from Bunhill and St. Mary's wards went along to some of their local green space to enjoy the park revamps at Laycock Street and Radnor Street.

Islington ignored as Labour Government rejects borough bids

Transport campaigners right across Islington were dismayed this week as the Labour Government snubbed the borough by refusing funds for transport improvements. Archway, Old Street Roundabout, Highbury Corner, and Drayton Park station all hoped to see a share of a £200 million Government fund for transport improvements. But the Government has refused to put down cash for any of the four Islington schemes.

Punish those selling knives to children - Islington Liberal Democrats

As Islington's Liberal Democrat-run council prepares to prosecute four shops caught selling knives to children, the Lib Dems are calling on the courts to take a much stronger stand against those who are fuelling knife crime by illegally selling knives to children and young people.
