Lib Dem councillor leader Terry Stacy is holding surgeries at supermarkets across the borough.
Liberal Democrat council leader Terry Stacy set out his stall at Morrison's supermarket on Holloway Road and at the Angel Sainsbury's this week. These were the first of a series of surgeries Terry is conducting at supermarkets across Islington as part of his campaign to get out of the Town Hall and talk to residents about issues that affect them and how the council can help.
Terry has also started a round of estate visits with tenants leaders and local councillors.
Terry said:
"As the new leader of Islington Council I want to get out of the Town Hall and make myself available for residents to come and talk to me face-to-face. The council needs to listen to local people if it is going to provide the service Islington expects and deserves.
"I'm already looking at how I can help the people that came to my surgery, and at how we can change or improve council services to tackle the issues they raised."
