Ladbrokes are latest to tip Islington South to go gold

Bridget Fox with Ladbrokes odds: Islington South & Finsbury seat is tipped to turn gold
It may be the week of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, but Islington Liberal Democrats are betting on gold closer to home.
Bookmaker Ladbrokes have published their latest odds for the likely outcome of the Islington South & Finsbury parliamentary seat at the next General Election. The seat is the most marginal Labour/Lib Dem seat in England, with Labour's 2005 victor Emily Thornberry having a tiny 484 vote majority over the Liberal Democrat Bridget Fox. It would take just a 0.8% swing for the Liberal Democrat challenger to take the seat.
And Ladbrokes say the chances for the Lib Dems winning the seat are now 1/2 as opposed to 6/4 for Labour. As for the Conservatives - who have no councillors in Islington and have not chosen a parliamentary candidate yet - they are rank outsiders at 25/1.
Bridget Fox comments, "I'm not a betting woman, but it is an exciting time to be a Liberal Democrat. People in Islington have been let down by Labour and they know the Conservatives can't win here."
