Councillors celebrate getting new cycle racks for Bastwick Street

Bunhill Councillors Ruth Polling, Donna Boffa and Jyoti Vaja are celebrating the installation of new cycle parking racks on Bastwick Street. The new stands are already a success, and are in almost constant use.
Cllr Ruth Polling says:
"This is great news - a really convenient location for local residents and also a great way of encouraging those coming into the borough to use bikes instead of clogging up the roads with more cars.
"Initiatives like these are important to helping us build a cleaner, greener and safer Islington that we can all be proud of."
New cycle stands have also recently been introduced in River Place and Essex Road, and along with improvements to cycle accessibility and road surfaces, are part of a range of improvements being introduced to make life easier for cyclists in Islington and get more people on their bikes.
