Misleading advertising - Lib Dems stop confusing place name
Local Lib Dem Councillors John Gilbert, Terry Stacy and Laura Willoughby have slammed luxury home developers Barratt Homes for a "misleading sales campaign."
Barratt's have decided to brand their latest development of luxury flats in Drayton Park "Highbury Terrace" - the name of a popular housing location nearly half a mile away, which has no connection with the site.
Local police have also joined Councillor's in expressing their concern at the branding of this development as they feel it could create confession amongst emergency services.
Barratts were warned that the Council would not support the branding and have now been referred to the Council's Trading Standards Service for them to investigate.
Local Liberal Democrat Councillor John Gilbert said "This is going to create total confusion locally, Barratts have been told by the Council they would not support this naming, but they continue to market the scheme under that heading. It is totally misleading potential buyers"
The new development is situated between Horsell Road and Arvon Road and has been branded for marketing purposes "Highbury Terrace, N5"

2. It was a condition of planning permission of this development that all block naming and numbering would have to be agreed with the Council
