If you're caught short at the N1 Shopping Centre, life will soon be a lot easier with plans to reopen the public toilets at the N1 Shopping Centre at the Angel. This follows lobbing by St Mary's Ward Councillor Emily Fieran-Reed and local shoppers.
The toilets were closed over two years ago, after complaints of anti-social behaviour. But the local Liberal Democrats have been working towards a solution to the problems so that the toilets could reopen, as many shoppers have asked for them to be reopened. As a result the N1 Centre re-opened the ladies toilets, but the men's had remained closed.
After ongoing discussion with the Council, a new internal layout for the toilets has been agreed, and works are underway. Once completed there will be both men's and women's toilets available again. There will be a common entrance so that both blocks can be supervised by N1 Centre staff to deter further anti-social behaviour.
The Council has also funded a major refurbishment of the public toilets at Chapel Street market as part of an ongoing improvement plan for the Angel Town Centre.
