New Investment in Lighting on Highbury Quadrant Estate
As a result of lobbying by local Liberal Democrat councillors, Homes for Islington has allocated an additional £100,000 to improve and upgrade lighting across Highbury Estate and Highbury Quadrant Estate.
Highbury East and Mildmay Councillors all campaigned to improve security on estates during the recent local elections.
Highbury East Councillor Terry Stacy said
"There are a number of lights on these estates that are in urgent need of upgrading. We are delighted that Homes for Islington have responded to our lobbying for additional investment. This will make a real difference to the way the estate looks and feels at night."
Mildmay Councillor Rhodri Jamieson-Ball said
"Better lighting makes estates feel safer. Tackling crime and anti-social behaviour is a real priority for us and I'm glad we've managed to persuade HFI to make a real difference on Highbury Estate."
