The Chancellor's proposal to raise the stamp duty threshold to £120,000 is meaningless for Islington, says Lib Dem campaigner Bridget Fox.
"Many Islington residents are desperate for the Government to help local families find affordable homes, but with this proposal, the Chancellor might as well have saved his breath.
"In London last year only 7000 homes fell below the £120,000 threshold and virtually none in Islington. To make an impact for our borough the threshold should be at least £150,000 - as Liberal Democrats propose."
