Liberal Democrat environmental campaigner Bridget Fox is supporting Sarah Ludford's campaign for rapid action to tackle sewage pollution in the river Thames.
Bridget says "Londoners are suffering from living with a 19th century water system in the 21st century. Islington residents are struggling with low water pressure and burst water mains - and every time it rains heavily, sewage flows into the Thames because the existing pipe network can't cope."
Bridget Fox represents London boroughs on the Regional Environmental Protection Advisory Committee - meeting with the Environment Agency to lobby for a cleaner environment for London.
Bridget is backing plans for a new main sewer - the Thames Tideway project - that would protect the Thames, keep London's water clean and allow increased pressure to restore water services locally.
Bridget says "Thames Water have the technology - but we need the Labour Government to give the go-ahead so we can have the modern sewerage system that Londoners deserve."
