Our postbag is always heavy with complaints about bus driver behaviour ñ- for some reason Londoners never seem to find time to write in about how well theyíve been treated! Quite a lot of the complaints turn on the actual standard of driving, including speeding and violent braking. Passengers (especially the elderly) are thrown around ? made all the more likely with the design of modern low-floor accessible buses with their wide-open spaces. Cllr Laura Willoughby is now asking the question: should buses be equipped with speed limiters, and with modified brakes, so that Grand Prix standing starts and screeching to a halt become things of the past? Or would this create more dangers? What's your view?
