Lib Dem Councillor Bridget Fox has demanded that TfL sort out the continuing problems along Upper Street after an accident at Angel today caused even more traffic chaos. Part of the southbound lane on Upper Street was closed today again after a traffic accident. Lib Dem Islington council immediately got in touch with Transport for London, who are responsible for Upper Street, to find out what exactly had happened and press for the road to be reopened as soon as possible. TfL have told the council that the road is due to be re-opened tomorrow. Liberal Democrat Bridget Fox said: "For months now it's one problem after another on Upper Street. Traffic tailbacks on this road have become the norm and that's just not acceptable. The A1 is the main road through Islington so a problem here causes chaos throughout Islington. TfL must get their act together and make sure that traffic flows smoothly once again. I'll continue pressing TfL and companies like Thames Water to stop making excuses and start taking responsibility."
