Junction Lib Dems campaigning with residents to resolve the problems around the Holloway bus garage are this week welcoming another success, the new forum set up for local residents and the bus operator Metroline. Both residents and Metroline last week attended a meeting set up by local Lib Dem ward councillor Stefan Kasprzyk, also attended by the GLA Lib Dems, to facilitate better relations between Metroline and residents surrounding the bus garage and to discuss the possibility of further talks. At this meeting it was agreed that a new regular forum would be launched at which residents living nearby the bus garage can raise issues with Metroline such as noise, parking and pollution. Local Liberal Democrat councillor Stephen Kasprzyk who has been campaigning for some time alongside residents to address the many issues arising between residents and Metroline is delighted with the news. He said: "I am very pleased that the council has opened up a dialogue between local residents and Metroline. I have been working with residents for some time to address their issues and to improve relations between the two and I'm hopeful for the future - this is a definite step forward. "I am now hoping that Metroline will come on board and help us address the concerns around the Vorley Road bus stand." The forum will be chaired by fellow Lib Dem ward councillor Euan Cameron and intends to meet every two months, starting in early May. Residents will decide on four representatives to serve on the new forum. Metroline will provide a named staff member as a contact for residents to handle day-to-day difficulties.
