Crown Castle, the agents for the property at Highbury Grove, are undertaking a voluntary consultation of their plans for re-design of the masts currently on top of 1-3 Highbury Grove. Despite the fact the council are still pursuing re-location with Orange they are also submitting this re-design with Crown Castle which under planning law they are entitled to do- the council is also legally bound to hear that application which we would expect to go to East Area committee sometime in March if they submit the application soon. This is the first opportunity residents have had to make their views on the mast known and your views on re-design. Crown Castle have unfortunately not produced copies of the proposed design, however early indications are that the base unit would remain and be clad and they would put the masts into fake chimneys around the edge of the building. If you have a view you may want to consider: The visual impact of the mast and whether or not you feel this would help Concerns you may have around health and safety. Local Councillors encourage you all to put due consideration into the first of these items as this is a key issue, especially as the area is now designated a conservation area. Your local councillors are working very hard on the re-location proposal, however they must ensure we do not come to a view on the actual re-design, as they will be on the planning committee making the decision. If we print or publicly air our views we may be considered to have fettered our discretion and our votes not counted - so please be patient with them if sometimes they may sound a little vague! All comments need to be back to Crown Castle as soon as possible:
