Well-known Bunhill resident Donna Boffa is to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate in the Council byelection in Bunhill ward on the 23 January. the byelection was cuased by the death of Lib Dem Cllr Rose Wooding. Donna Boffa was born in Finsbury 37 years agoa and has lived all her life in the area. She lives in Hermit Street as a council tenant with her partner Stephen. She is the mother of five children. Donna is a well-known and popular figure in the area, especially with young people. She works as a volunteer at Hugh Myddelton school. Previously she was a youth worker at Toffee Park playground where she ran the football team. Donna said: "It is a great honour to be chosen as the Lib Dem candidate in Bunhill. Rose Wooding was an amazing representative for the people of Bunhill and I want to continue her work. "Finsbury is a fantastic area and if I am elected it will be a great honour to fight for its residents. "If I'm elected I'll be fighting to get ITNet out of islington. Since Labour brought ITNet to the Borough they have had their chance to improve housing benefits. i know from personal experience that they have failed. It's about time we got rid of them." Donna's children attend local schools, including Hugh Myddelton school and Central Foundation school. Donna is a governor of Moorfields school. Her parents live on the Redbrick estate, where her mother Brenda is the Chair of the Tenants Management Organisation (TMO). her father Paul was at school with Cllr Joe Trotter (Lib Dem), one of the other Councillors for Bunhill Ward.
