Liberal Democrat Leader Charles Kennedy MP yesterday revealed the Liberal Democrat election slogan: "A real chance for real change". The slogan appears on a poster unveiled yesterday highlighting significant new polling evidence by MORI showing that, if people believe that the Liberal Democrats can win in their constituency. Lib Dems would be competing with Labour for most votes, with the Conservatives relegated to third place. If people voted as they indicated in the poll, the Lib Dems would win 216 seats, Labour 358 and the Conservatives just 54. Charles Kennedy MP said: People in Britain have a real chance for real change. Liberal Democrats will be fighting in every part of Britain to show that we can win. We are already making a real difference in the many places we are in power. Elderly people in Scotland will soon benefit from free long term care - without having to sell their homes or give up their life savings. Only the Liberal Democrats want free long term care across the UK. We will appeal to people who wanted real change in 1997 but have been disappointed by lack of improvement in our NHS, education, in public transport and a failure to help pensioners share in rising prosperity. But we will also remind people that the Conservatives left us with the problems of underfunding health and education and their plans to push people towards private health care would be a disaster.
